The New Tivo

So we own a Series 2 Tivo which we can use to record shows our shows. We use it religiously and we love it since we can sit down and watch our shows whenever we want. We do like watching some shows "live" (like Heroes), but this time-shifting of shows help us really keep up. It also helps us limit the shows we follow (the Tivo only can record so much).

The new thing I have been taking advantage of is Hulu, CBS, NetFlix, and YouTube. I use YouTube to try and find short clips of things and NetFlix to try out old shows (like Airwolf and Buck Rogers) and catch up on shows I missed (Jericho). I've also found some shows on their network's site (like How I Met Your Mother) and others on Hulu (Chuck and Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles). I really like the different options to watch my shows, when I want to. I would prefer to have one stop shopping though. This might be possible with the  new development of CBS starting to put some shows on YouTube (with advertising) sounds promising.

The New Odd Couple

I think they got along better than Felix and Oscar ever did, but Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates are quite the pair. As part of a PR campaign for Microsoft, these commercials (the first and second ) were created to try and Microsoft seem more relatable. I found them to be particularly funny and wish they would continue. According to Microsoft, Jerry was only supposed to be on board for these couple commercials, although there was speculation that people were confused as to the point of the commercials. Perhaps things will change as the new "I'm a PC" commercial seems to not be very popular, and potentially more confusing. I personally hope they bring Seinfeld/Gates back.
